HAMISH EVANS
Hamish provides a comprehensive range of legal services to a large and varied client base including major national corporations, government agencies, local business interests and private clients.
Hamish has had over 30 year experience as a litigator. He has extensive civil and criminal trial experience, having appeared as lead counsel in both High Court and Court of Appeal cases.
Hamish has recently joined Plymouth Chambers after twenty years as a Partner at Young Hunter.

AboutJared regularly litigates all forms of commercial disputes. He is a recognised leader in complex trust and fiduciary litigation acting in some of New Zealand’s most well known disputes including Kain v Hutton, Chirnside v Faye, Re Burnett Mt Cook Station Chartiable Trust, Great Christchurch Buildings Trust v CPT (the Christchurch Cathedral), Pangani Properties v Lloyd & Nevill. Jared is the convenor of the Canterbury-Westland Trust Committee and has been a presenter of member of the organising committee for the NZLS Trusts Conference since 2011. He was an adviser to the Minister of Justice on the Trust Reference Group for the new Trusts Act 2019. Jared also well known for the high profile public law litigation he has undertaken including acting on leading judicial review cases in relation to the Invercargill CBD, electricity regulation, emergency planning legislation for earthquake recovery, the land use recovery plan, Maori legal issues, and the Christchurch Cathedral. In 2018 Jared founded Plymouth Chambers as a new chambers in Christchurch for leading barristers in the region. Jared was previously the National Managing Partner of Wynn Williams and its senior litigation partner. He has been recognised on multiple occasions in Chambers and Partners Asia Pacific Directory as a leader in his field where he was characterised by peers as "a very experienced, pragmatic, and wise litigation practitioner”. Jared was the 2017 New Zealand Law Awards' Crowe Horwath Managing Partner of the Year.
